Brazil Butt Lift Day 3

Written by on May 23, 2012 in Blog

I have had this workout package for a while now but have been ill or traveling for what feels like a month so I am just now getting into my workout routine. I had done a few workouts on these DVD’s before but just this week started the Super Model Slim Down and my diet. I am eating 1000 calories a day as instructed by the program and the Slim Down makes you work out 6 days in a row with promise of looser feeling pants by day 4.

Hangover no-more!

Written by on April 26, 2012 in Everything Else

This stuff is simply amazing. Since we found it, we’ve been using this product every time we go out. It truly does help prevent feeling like crap the next day after a night of drinking. You can read our original review here. I admit, I usually think these sort of things are usually a marketing gimmick. I mean, can a little tiny bottle like this really be a magic hangover potion? A hangover is one of those things that a majority of people experience, whether they know it or not. Some people may think their stomach hurts the next day but that it isn’t part of a hangover. IT IS!

Why Sex is Good for You

Written by on April 9, 2012 in Articles

SDC had posted this article on Twitter and I thought it was interesting. I love hearing about excuses why we SHOULD have sex so this was right up my ally.

  • According to a report from Scottish researchers in the Biological Psychology sex lowers your blood pressure.
  • The same report notes that sex gives an overall stress reduction. Men and women who had sex responded better to stress.
  • Sex on a regular base, minimum once a week, spurs your immune system with 30 percent higher levels of immunoglobulin A (IgA), which helps protect against colds and infections.
  • Researchers found that, compared with men who have sex less than once a month, having sex twice or more a week will reduce the risk of fatal heart attack by half for the men.
  • Sex is good for your self-esteem and that is one of 237 reasons people have sex, so researchers of the University of Texas published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior. And the more active your sex life, the more the opposite sex feels attracted to you because if you are sexual very active, your body releases more pheromones. These hormones attract the opposite sex.
  • It is a beauty treatment for women. Sex doubles the estrogens level. This hormone makes your hair shine and give the skin a healthy glow.
  • Sex is good for weight loss: thirty minutes of sex burns at least 85 calories, so is a great way to exercise.
  • Sex activates the hormone oxytocine, a natural painkiller which is ten times more effective than a regular painkiller. So instead of ‘no sex please, I have a headache your headache might be relieved after having sex.
  • Having sex sharpens your senses, especially the smell. This is caused by a rise of the hormone prolactin.
  • Sex Reduces Prostate Cancer Risk so Australian researchers reported in the British Journal of Urology International. They followed men diagnosed with prostate cancer and those without. The researchers found that men, who had five or more ejaculations weekly while in their 20s, had less chance of getting prostate cancer later in life.
  • Sex strengthens muscles as you can imagine the effort your muscles have to make through pushes and reflections. Strengthtening the pelvic muscles also lead to a better control of the bladder.
  • The hormone oxytocine released during orgasm also gives you a good night’s sleep.

No WONDER my hair is so shiny! ;)

I love this article and agree with a lot of it. I know for a fact sex gets rid of my headaches and I will use that instead of medication in most cases. Thanks SDC!

Brazil Butt Lift

Written by on April 9, 2012 in Blog

The more we go out, the more I realize just HOW into asses my man is. I was looking for a new workout routine and he mentioned this one. Of course I would love to have a firmer ass for my own benefit but my main motivation would be to do it for him. He already loves my butt and tells me often so if I could make it better..imagine the possibilities!

I will keep you all updated to see if this really works. It has amazing reviews on Amazon so I have a really good feeling that this is going to be a fun workout that gives me great results.  I should have it by the end of the week and most people saw results within a few weeks so maybe…I will post an “after” picture of my ass for you all. ;)

My tips to avoid a hangover

Written by on March 23, 2012 in Blog

We go out quite a bit and I find that I drink more than I mean to if we go to a club. I do it in a tasteful fashion and don’t end too many nights passed out. However, one too many glasses of wine, even if I have only a small buzz, will still give me hangover side effects the next day. I have slowly developed a list of things I can do to feel better.

*Drink lots of water.

What I will do is always drink a lot of water the day I know we are going out so I can hydrate by body. Loss of water is what makes a hangover so bad. So the more hydrated you are, the better you will feel. I always order a glass of water when I order a drink and after every drink, I drink my glass of water. It helps me drink slower but also helps me get enough water in. You could also try Gatorade or Powerade since they contain electrolytes.

*Avoid caffeine.

Coffee acts as a diuretic and can dehydrate you . It totally defeats the point of drinking lots of water.

*Tomato juice.

I am sure you have noticed that many people drink bloody marys in the mornings. This could be because they drank the night before or because they are just delicious. I skip the alcohol all together because essentially that is just delaying the inevitable and can lead to alcohol abuse. Tomato juice is high in sodium so it helps your body retain the water you are drinking.

*Be careful with medication.

I know the first thing we do is reach for something for our headache. Ibuprofen is a NSAID and if taken while drinking, can cause stomach bleeding and other problems. Tylenol can cause liver problems if you take while drinking and your liver is already working overtime to metabolize the alcohol. So, if you HAVE to take something, maybe wait until the next morning or at least be very careful about what you do take.

*Eat something.

My stomach is always going crazy when I wake up after a night of drinking. I’ve heard eating greasy foods is the best idea and I do find it makes me feel better. I also always crave Subway and I feel like the bread helps soak up the alcohol. You just have to find what works for you but at least eat SOMETHING. Not eating will make you feel worse.

*Stick with the same drink.

If I start with tequila, that is what I drink all night. I can’t tolerate beer or vodka so margaritas or wine is usually what I flock to. I find that mixing drinks for me makes me feel worse and/or I throw it all back up. So I avoid that. Also, if I drink something too acidic I will feel awful. We tried a premixed margarita mix we found at Specs and it made me feel HORRIBLE. I read later that if you drink something with too much sugar, that is the typical reaction for many people.

They actually make over the counter hangover aid drinks now. We tried GTOX that we found at Specs. It had good reviews and we had looked at several before we went. If you have a few days to wait for it to ship, it is cheaper to buy on Amazon and comes in a 12 pack. You are supposed to drink 1-2 after a night of drinking. It is full of vitamins that are supposed to help detox your liver. I only drank one and felt fine the next morning. I also used my standard water and tomato juice routine so it may not have just been the drink. My fiance drank 2 and it was a little harsh on his stomach. It has a citrus flavor that wasn’t bad at all. Another one we want to try but couldn’t find it at the store was NOHO. The reviews say this one doesn’t have a good flavor but everyone swears it works so we ordered some from Amazon. I will let you know if it works for us.

You can still go out and not have to worry about how you feel in the morning. Just find your routine and see what works for you but most importantly, you have to drink water. I hope this helps! I know I have a lot of party people that read this blog! I would love to hear your ideas too!
