Swing Stories – Kristal & Mike from Playboy TV’s Swing

I am thrilled to share the interview we did with Kristal and Mike from Playboy’s Swing! They were so awesome to talk to about not only their experience with the lifestyle but also their experience on the show!

Her: First I would love to get a little background information on you guys. How long have you been together?

We have been together about a year and a half but known each other for two years.

Her: How long have you been in the lifestyle?

We met in the lifestyle but have been doing it together for about a year.

Her: Interesting! How did you meet?

We met at a lifestyle party.

Her: So you met and quit swinging for a while..who brought up the lifestyle and how?

Since we were both previously in the lifestyle, we both knew that we wanted to continue, We simply took a break to get to know each other better.

Him: Do you remember your first experience swinging together? If so, what was it?

Yes, we met a couple on SLS. We met them at a local club and danced and talked and what not. We met them again for some drinks, and they invited us to their home. We were asked to join them in their hot tub, and before we knew it, the swap just kinda happened. We ended up in their bedroom and had a great time. It was very smooth, and the couple was really good.

Her: How did you end up getting on the show Swing?

We saw a casting call on Kasidie from Playboy. We talked about it and contacted them. They sent us a bunch of things to fill out. Then, they asked us for pictures of the two of us. They had us do a Skype interview. Then we just waited to be casted. They did all kinds of background checks and even had us do STD testing. Before we knew it, they were coordinating our air fare.

Him: How was the experience on the show? Was it what you expected?

Well, we had watched much of season 1 online, so we knew what the concept of the show was. We didn’t know exactly what to expect on the set. We had no idea what the house looked like, which was amazing! Overall, our experience was phenominal. The cast and crew were awesome.The production was well run and professional. We were on two episodes and enjoyed both very much.

Him: Do you remember which two episodes?

We were there for their first filming, which we think was supposed to be the premier. But, since episode 2 got seriously wild they bumped that episode for the premier and ours went to episode 2. As far as we know, we’ll be on the finale...which will be pretty wild.

Him: Awesome! Anything you wish you could have experienced while you were there and didn’t get to?

Kristal says, “A girl Pile!” LO! In all seriousness, we had a fabulous time and couldn’t ask for more.

Him: How has your life changed since leaving the Swing house?

Well, we’ve met some great new friends that we continue to keep contact with. We sure hope to be invited for season 3! Otherwise, not much has changed.

Him: So you mentioned you’ve used SLS and Kasidie... Have you used any others? Do you have a favorite? Is this typically how you meet others or do you find going to the lifestyle clubs works better for you?

We’re also on LoveVoodoo. Our favorite is Kasidie, by far. We love the community-like format and the Facebook like feel to it. It has a lot of features compared to other sites as well. Huge kudos to Kasidie. We typically meet couples online, but use the sites primarily to tell the world where we’ll be and when - usually at a lifestyle meet-n-greet. Once in a great while, we’ll meet couples one-on-one on a first meeting, but not very often.

Him: How has the lifestyle helped your relationship? Do you feel you could stop at anytime without harming your relationship?

We think it has definitely helped in terms of constantly practicing open, honest, and effective communication. Developing that trust is crucial. It’s amazing how much your relationship can be enhanced through this alone.The sexual stuff for us is simply icing on the cake, next to how it make us feel. Quite frankly, the social elements of the lifestyle are probably more important to us than the sexual. As far as stopping. We think we could stop if we wanted to, but it’s really what we do for our primary hobby. If we were to stop, we wold have to find something exciting to do which would fill that social void. 

Him: Have you had any awkward moments?

Kristal once fell off a bed in a voyeur room which was lined with people watching... lol! That was kinda embarrassing for her. Otherwise, we haven’t had much drama in the moment. A little bit here and there, but not caused by us. She took it like a champ though! 

Her: Do you have any additional advice you could offer couples who are interested in entering the lifestyle?

Yes, if you’re doing this to solve a problem in your marriage, stop. The lifestyle can definitely enhance your relationship, but if done wrong or for the wrong reasons, it can and will exploit whatever issues you are having. Open, honest,and effective communication with each other and those you play with is absolutely critical. The reality of the lifestyle is far different than the fantasy.
